Bramley Oak Academy Curriculum

At Bramley Oak Academy, we recognise that every pupil arrives with their own unique strengths, experiences and aspirations. Many pupils join us having faced challenges in their education which may have affected their confidence, engagement and readiness to learn. Our curriculum is designed to remove barriers, build confidence and provide every pupil with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to thrive both now and in the future.

We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, understood and ready to engage. For this reason, emotional regulation and engagement sit at the heart of our curriculum. Alongside this, we place a strong emphasis on personal and social development, helping pupils to build positive relationships, develop independence and become active members of their communities. We are equally committed to ensuring that pupils develop the literacy and numeracy skills they need for future success. These three areas form the foundation of our curriculum and underpin all aspects of learning at Bramley Oak Academy.

We are equally committed to ensuring that every pupil develops the literacy and numeracy skills needed for the next stage of their education and beyond. Through high-quality teaching, carefully planned learning opportunities and personalised support, pupils are encouraged to make progress from their individual starting points and develop a positive attitude towards learning.

Learning at Bramley Oak extends beyond the classroom through Forest School, educational visits, theatre trips, Bikeability and a wide range of enrichment activities. These experiences help broaden horizons, build confidence and create meaningful opportunities for learning. You can find out more about our vision for enrichment and the experiences available to pupils on our Enrichment page.

Our aim is that every pupil leaves Bramley Oak as a confident, resilient and thoughtful young person, equipped with the knowledge, skills and personal qualities needed to access the next stage of their education and make a positive contribution to society.
